Just 30 or so minutes from the campground, this waterfall is 286' from the parking lot via an ADA-compliant paved trail.

Just a couple minutes up the road from Waldo Lake, there's a mile or so of rough dirt road (don't bring a rental sedan) and then an easy hike around Charlton Lake.

Another beautiful alpine lake accessible via the Pacific Crest Trail just a couple miles up the highway from the turnoff for Waldo Lake. It's a few miles, but the PCT is a gentle grade because it needed to be usable by pack animals laden with supplies and equipment.

A mile or two up the trail from the Salt Creek Falls parking lot, it's a bit of a climb but the falls are gorgeous in a way that's hard to beat outside the PNW.

A gorgeous alpine lake that's 8 miles round trip from the Salt Creek Falls parking lot. It's a challenging climb, but there are some stellar waterfalls along the way so even if you turn around before the lake it's still amazing.
